Nikuyama : The best charcoal-grilled red meat

Nikuyama was opened in 2012 by owner Hideaki Mitsuyama, 10 years after he opened the hormone bar Shochuya "Wa" in Kichijoji in 2002, with Mitsuyama himself taking over the restaurant.

At the time, the restaurant opened four days a week, Monday through Thursday, with only six seats per day (it now also operates on weekends). The restaurant grills chunks of red meat over charcoal, slices them into easy-to-eat pieces, and serves them to customers. The meat is perfectly cooked and cut, leaving customers with a clean aftertaste that only red meat can provide, even after they've finished eating. For this reason, the restaurant is said to have sparked the recent red meat boom.

Starting today, June 6th, FamilyMart is releasing the third collaboration product with Nikuyama, the popular yakiniku restaurant in Kichijoji, Tokyo, which is so popular it's impossible to get a reservation, "Nikuyama-supervised grilled beef rib rice bowl"!
